Text????Need imediate help

okay so i had gimp and it was working fine. then i try to start it up
last night and instead of text where things like file and extensions
are supposed to be there are just a bunch of squares with these little
symbols in them. i have restarted gimp, restarted my computer, removed
and downloaded gimp several times and it stil doesnt work. please help.

Looks like the language environment of your system has changed.

Or he has changed the system font to some odd one, perhaps a bitmap font?
