I'm a new assistant professor excited about teaching his first semester
at an HBCU, but I have a question: What texts would you
recommend me reading?
I'm looking for texts that would connect with the topic of
white faculty members (like myself) teaching at an HBCU,
and more specifically, teaching first-year composition.
My semester:
I am teaching 4 sections of composition, totaling 120
students. My students are labeled "at-risk" by admissions.
They have been grouped together for a learning community.
