Re running Tcl on the iPhone:

if you have entered the iPhone dev program and downloaded the iPhone
SDK you should read the iPhone SDK Agreement in detail (that you have
entered into by doing so), in particular clause 3.3.2...

As the agreement appears to be under the same NDA as the SDK itself,
I cannot say more here; for the folks not under this restriction, a
bit of googling will bring up the clause I am referring to, a number
of people out there have violated their NDA in this respect...

Cheers,

Daniel

that's great news!

I have investigated what would be necessary for a Tk Cocoa port in
quite some detail and have talked with several Cocoa engineers at the
last WWDC about some of the trickier areas, so I have quite a
detailed picture of what needs to be done that I can look at writing
up for you if you'd like.

Unfortunately I've had to decide that the amount of work is such (I'd
estimate 6-12 man-months) that I cannot have a go at this on my own
in my (recently much reduced) spare time, but I'd certainly be happy
to help out if you get stuck.

As has been mentioned here, I have proposed a Google Summer of Code
project for a subset of this effort
        http://wiki.tcl.tk/20832#pagetoc8a734dd7
if we get a successful student application for this, it would be good
to coordinate efforts.

Cheers,

Daniel

Yes, please, when can I expect to receive this? It would really help
confirm the steps I think are necessary, etc.

I'll have a go over the next few days, I should have something cogent
early next week...
I'm thinking such a roadmap might best be done on wiki.tcl.tk so that
it can easily be added to/amended over time (and maybe ticked off as
work progresses)?

Cheers,

Daniel

Hi Daniel.

Great, thank you for this effort.

Once I have your items and a concrete plan, I am happy to post on the
Wiki as well as me website.

Thanks!
-Jason

Jason,

Anything to report on this project? A roadmap, initial plan, website, etc?

Great, thank you for this effort.

Anything to report on this project? A roadmap, initial plan, website, etc?

I am working on a website as we speak, hoping to have it finalized this weekend.

I do see that you sent me an e-mail. I will reply this weekend as well.

Thanks,
-Jason

FWIW, I noticed that there was Tcl available via Installer.app.  Don't
know anything about it though.

Jeff
