Hi Dimitry,

i have the same problem but when i run :
php -q /home/.../.../public_html/typo3/cli_dispatch.phpsh mnogosearch -v 3
-w

i get this type of error:

I set the extension correctly (with slash...), the db was created and the
user used in ext config has the correct privileges.
but the tables and data was not created from command line.

Any idea?

[TYPO3-english] Problem when using 'rgsendnews'

Hello,

I tried George Ringer's extension 'rgsendnews', this sends complate news
record to an email adress. Very nice when looking at the demo but when
trying to configure it, I get a problem:

When I submit the form, part of the page from where it resides gets
reloaded into the tag <div id="log"></div>. Here you are supposed to see
only warnings or errors when sending the form.

Anyone has similar experiences with this? Is this a mootools conflict? I
uninstalled every other extension with a mootools-library.

Any ideas or suggestions?

[TYPO3-english] Conference Management (pt_conference) Help

I am attempting to set up a conference site in TYPO3 using the Conference
Management extension (pt_conference). When attempting to view a page like,
speaker registration, I will sometimes receive an error saying:

Extension key "pt_conference" was NOT loaded! typo3 t3lib_extMgm::extPath

This warning will appear once; upon a page refresh, no page content, besides
the page title, is displayed in the body of the template. If I clear the
cache and reload the page, it displays again, but another refresh 'breaks'
it again. Setting the page to not keep its cache has no effect on correcting
the refresh issue; setting the page to not keep its cache will keep this
error from appearing, but treating the symptoms is not treating the problem.

It (pt_conference) is, quite obviously installed in the back end. I am not
sure if localconf.php should have a separate line citing pt_conference, but
the only instance of pt_conference occurs in
$TYPO3_CONF_VARS['EXT']['extList']. I would be surprised if there wasn't
supposed to be another key entered into localconf.php, by the pt_conference
install, especially since much simpler extensions are cited on their own
lines.

When attempting to view speakers' registered papers in the back end I will
get a message indicating: 'DATABASE ERROR!' with no other clues as to what
database it is looking for, why the database doesn't exist (perhaps?), why
it isn't using the existing TYPO3 database, or any type of useful indicator.
I have looked at the HTML source to try and find clues, but that was not
fruitful. My MySQL and PHP knowledge are fairly limited, but my poking
around in phpMyAdmin has not turned up anything glaringly wrong.

It seems that the order of operations for installing items pertaining to
TYPO3, like Conference Management, is quite important. Why is this? What is
the correct order of operations, if one exists? In a related note, the
Conference Management extension manual says, "...for the correct operation
of 'Conference visitors area/Conference Registration' plugin it's necessary
to have some tutorials in the papers database table, that are marked as
accepted tutorials." The reasoning, I believe, is so that when people
register for the conference, they may select a talk or tutorial to attend.
Okay, that's fine. But editing the database to create 'faux' accepted
tutorials isn't something I have had success with yet--I can't even locate a
table advertising itself as accepted tutorials; I honestly don't know
whether or not acceptance of a tutorial creates the database to which
conference registrants are added, or if it is something completely
different.

I find further frustration in that when I am in the BE I can 'View' the
Visitor's Area and Speakers' Area Registration pages, but when I go to view
them in the FE they 'break', and have the same, hauntingly-empty template
mentioned previously: I change and re-save some minor attribute, it works—I
refresh again, *poof*.

I have a server to play around on, so if the solution involves some major
overhaul, there is no real substance to lose. I have sat down to RTFM, and
can't ascertain any fixes from further re-readings. It's like I'm at a
point where I just need a little push up the learning curve for everything
to fall into place, or am missing something stupidly easy, but I can't seem
to locate the issue to bring everything into focus.

Speed, further lot of other stuff that would be rather complicate to
implement just in plain PHP. Check manual for IM (I prefer GM as of
having less problems and IMHO better results).

Discussion about a 100% PHP solution is almost as old as TYPO3. But
nobody has developed that so far. Just check the archieve and you will
find the threads.

Extensions handle dates the way they want. If they are properly coded,
they allow you to configure the way they output them. You have to search
for TS configuration for each and every extension to find where you may
specify the date format.

You use enterprise CMS. You should expect certain requirements and these requirements will not be low level.

Quite a lot. ImageMagick generally creates better JPEGs that GD. I have no idea why but I tired to compare once: same settings different quality. It is especially visible you have to resize a 8mpix image to a 450px width image and save as 60% quality JPEG.

application at the moment where i scale images too, and i never realised
any artefacts.
where exactly are the quality differences?

GMENU is not so easy to play around with. What you want may be possible, but I
have never figured out how to do it. For the kind of problem you describe I
usually create a graphic menu based on TMENU, which gives you a lot more
flexibility for creating the exact output you need.

I got the solution to my problem.
You have to add two lines in your typoscript for language menu.

--------------------
addQueryString = 1
addQueryString.exclude = id, L, cHash
---------------------------

It will do the work.

Certain software have certain design principles. Changing them is
not possible because it kills the idea of that software. I will be
happy to see accessible version of ratings in TER. My extension was
meant to be fast and provide real time updates without reloading
pages. Removing JavaScript makes this impossible. Therefore it
cannot be done in my extension, it will kill its main principle.

I found a reason of this issue. It was in: config.absRefPrefix = /
So now everything is ok :) Sometimes it's better to sleep and solve the
problem at the morning...

I have run into a problem i cant seem to solve with my knowledge of
Gmenu and TypoScript.

I want to achieve this with gifbuilder:

I know there's a list for tt_news, but I've tried in the tt_news list
and I could not get a good solution for my problem. I hope this list can
put me in contact with someone who can help me.

I would like to know how to display the catmenu as sub items of mainmenu
(hmenu). I have a menu item with "news and events" ...I would like to
show the news categories within the main menu.

I have found some post regarding this subject but I wasn't able to make
it work correctly...I do not have enough experience with typo3 yet....!

[TYPO3-english] html rte + spellchecker

Hello all,

As suggested in the doc to use spellchecking with rte I have installed
static_info_tables, /p2_spellchecker and //p2_sv_spellcheck. this is a
linux box.

"aspell -v" shows/

International Ispell Version 3.1.20 (but really Aspell 0.60.3)

in rte the spell checking button is also available. But it can't detect
the misspelled words and certified everything as OK. What I am missing
here ? the typo3 is 4.2

Put your css-file somewhere in the path fileadmin and include it in your
ts setup with

page.includeCSS {
file1 = <path to your css-file>
file2 = <path to your second css-file>
}

This you will find on the tab "Answerpage". "###POWERMAIL_ALL### will
display all values. But can can put any text here you want.

You have to make another extension. Ratings ext will be always
AJAX–based and there are no plans to change it. There are plans to
enhance this extension with new functionality but it will be
AJAX–based too.

I suggest you register key like accessible_ratings and make your won
extension.

[TYPO3-english] Extension ratings without JavaScript

Hello,

I'm trying to adapt the extension "ratings" [1] to work without
JavaScript because of accessibility requirements.

In my first approach I've modified the links on the starts depending on
if the user has or not JavaScript activated. If it has JavaScript it
works as usually.
However in the other case I generate a link with the information as GET
params, then the plugin extract this GET information and try to use the
class tx_ratings_ajax as when you use JavaScript but I always get the
same error: "Error: bad check value".

You can see what I'm trying at [2], but the real code should use
"t3lib_div::getUrl" instead of "header", but I'm just using header to
see the errors.

I'd like to ask if it's a good approach or you think that I could test
another one.

On the other hand maybe it has no sense try to adapt this extension to
work without JavaScript so I should find a new extension to do that.

You have PHP errors. Most likely your cache tables are corrupted.
Examine your web server error log for more information.

[TYPO3-english] content disappears

Hi

I have a strange problem with a site

On all pages I want to display a form for subscribing to a newsletter.

I do it with this ts:

lib.newsletter = RECORDS
lib.newsletter.tables = tt_content
lib.newsletter.source = 6
lib.newsletter.dontCheckPid = 1

The problem is that the form disappears and I have to go and clear the
cache to make it show up again. Then its there for a while. When I come
back to the site several days later its the same and once again I have
to clear the cache

Any ideas to what might be wrong?

Typo3 version is 4.2.1
