Ethnic Rhetoric Hire at Florida StateA quick note to follow up on Kristie's earlier announcement.
As the header suggests, we're hiring in ethnic rhetoric; the ad for the position is below. What it omits, though, is a good part of why one might want to join our department, apart from the beauty of the place and the sunny winter weather ;) Put simply, we have a really splendid program with wonderful students in a nicely hospitable department and college. The program website is here--http://www.english.fsu.edu/rhetcomp/index.html--and it tells something about the program. What isn't online but is equally important is the other kind of support we get: for example, in the college's first issue of the college magazine, where our program is the lead story ;) And in two weeks, we open our Digital Studio, an effort led by two doctoral students, Liane Robertson and Scott Gage. In sum, we're a good place for a teacher-scholar: teaching responsibilities are 2-2; research is an important part of who we are; and both our undergraduate students and our graduate students are a treat, the grads studying everything from the rhetoric of rumor surrounding Katrina to the role of transfer in college composition. Inquires to Kristie Fleckenstein <kfleckenstein@...> or yours truly <kyancey@...> kathi Ethnic Rhetoric. Assistant Professor, Tenure track, Fall 2009. PhD required.
