This is just a heads-up until I can dig further into this issue. I'm
running under Fedora 7 with all recent updates. After going from the
2.6.22.1-41 kernel RPM to 2.6.23.1-21, I've discovered that LZ 2.4 is
exporting TIFF files that produce "cannot handle zero scanline size"
errors from libtiff-enabled applications (e.g. ImageMagick). After booting
back to the 2.6.22 kernel and re-exporting, the problem goes away. diff
confirms that the exported TIFFs between the two kernels are different.
I'm guessing that there is some kind of weird memory corruption bug in the
later kernel, at least in Fedora; I haven't had chance to browse the
bugzilla database yet.
Note also that 2.6.23 is the installed default with Fedora 8.
