Switching to external monitor.

Hello,

I connect an external monitor to my laptop when I'm at home or at work.

In order to reconfigure my monitor when I leave, I have configured an
icon on my gnome panel, which invoke "xrandr --auto" to automatically
detects the suitable resolution.

I'm wondering how you handle this. Any great idea we could enable in
Lenny ?
