Sun Certified Java ArchitectHi I am planning to start studying for the Sun Certified Java Architect exam. However there is a confusion here. On the sun website, they call the step 1 exam as CX-310-052 and I do not find study guides for this exam at all. Everywhere I find the study guide for SCEA Study guides with the exam name being called CX-310-051. Are they same? Where can I get the study guide for CX-310-052exam? Using this mailing list (where we should be talking about java development issues) to promote your politics, even if that politics is morally, ethically and economically sound constitutes abuse of this list. I have no interest in (and don't disagree with) your politics. On Sat, Jul 5, 2008 at 5:07 AM, Dean Land <dn_land@...> wrote:

Re: Sun Certified Java ArchitectRamesh,
CX 310-051 was part 1 of the old SCEA exam; 052 is part one of the new exam that covers JEE 5. As for study guides, as far as I can tell there are none - yet. I got certified as part of the beta testing for the new exams last November and I'm kind of surprised that there isn't a newer version of the existing guides. If you go to JavaRanch and find the SCEA forum you can see what people there are using - there's also a FAQ with a suggested reading list. BTW, during the beta, people (including me) were still referring to Mark Cade's book so it's probably wirth picking up a copy. The thing is that the exam covers a very wide array of skills and no single book is going to have enough detail for the whole thing. If you're interested in more information, I'll be at tomorrow's meeting or you can email me at this address.
