Still Trying to Build on Fedora 8Guys, I hope I can finish building GPS this week. Here is where it was

I seem to only have two copies of the file prj-pps.ads on my system: rlove@falcon> locate prj-pp.ads /home/rlove/ada/prj-pp.ads /home/rlove/ada/.svn/text-base/prj-pp.ads.svn-base /home/rlove/gps/gnat/prj-pp.ads The one in the gps directory is the one that came with this project and the one in the ada directory came from following the instructions in the INSTALL file where it says to check out source from svn co svn://gcc.gnu.org/svn/gcc/trunk/gcc/ada Both files are as new as this week. There is no difference between the files: diff /home/rlove/gps/gnat/prj-pp.ads /home/rlove/ada/prj-pp.ads rlove@falcon> So I assume neither file is the correct one. Let me turn this into a concrete question: Where do I get the correct file? _______________________________________________ gps-users mailing list gps-users@... http://lists.adacore.com/mailman/listinfo/gps-users |

Re: Still Trying to Build on Fedora 8Hello? Is anyone reading this? I'm still puzzled by the idea that I
have the wrong sources when I got the sources from the GPS project. Can anyone explain this so I can finish building GPS? Thanks for all assistance. On Mar 6, 2008, at 5:39 PM, R. B. I read this but I'm not on Fedora and so I have little assistance to offer. I suggest you join the GNU Ada project on SourceForge (http://gnuada.sourceforge.net); they build RPMs of GPS among other things and their build scripts are public. Or switch to Debian :) -- Ludovic Brenta. _______________________________________________ gps-users mailing list gps-users@... http://lists.adacore.com/mailman/listinfo/gps-users |

Perhaps the Ada Core staff was off on a long spring break and will be back soon. _______________________________________________ gps-users mailing list gps-users@... http://lists.adacore.com/mailman/listinfo/gps-users |

Re: Still Trying to Build on Fedora 8Agreed, MS software was not always worth its price (especially at the time it was rather crashy "alpha" versions and customers paid to test it). On the other hand, now I can find good second-hand MS software, e.g. for 20 francs, on the "marché aux puces" nearby. The cost is a lot smaller than the time I would spend to try building GNAT or GPS on some systems. Even institutions can get second-hand MS software (MS lost a trial on that): http://www.usedsoft.com/ My 2 centimes... Gautier
