Step 4c absenceI'm trying to get through the tutorial, but met a problem when
attempting to fill in Step 4c to infrastructure.GasNode. How can I fix this problem? The simulation will not run without it, and as a matter of fact, I can't drop agents onto the grid without it (unless that is due to some other problem). Thank you! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check out the new SourceForge.net Marketplace. Re: Step 4c absenceThanks for trying Repast Simphony! The label for step "4c" should instead be "4d". This will be fixed shortly. I've had this same problem and can't seem to get around it by using 4d; could you be just a little more explicit on how to proceed down that sequence? Re: Step 4c absenceGary:
Yes, I'm happy to do this! Step "4c" was accidentally mislabeled "4d". The steps after "4c" within activity number four that were changed by one letter as well so that "4d" became "4e", "4e" became "4f" etc. You can follow the tutorial as is, just 'increment' all of the letters after "c" in activity four. Re: Step 4c absenceHi Mike, I encounter the same problem discussed here before, but i can't use your advice to come along. My problem so far: the tutorial says: Step 4c infrastructuredemo.GasNode with your advice: 4c becomes 4d. field reads: Type in the kind of agent to Watch Ok.. so i try, BUT the field is not writeable at all, instead there is an button that opens an selector-window. window-label: please select a type the upper line allows to type filter-strings, so that i can select a match below. But the only thing i can find and select are some jars of repast and java. No GasNode.class or something that could attach the defined behavior to my agent. Is there a way to avoid the buggy definition and write down the groovy code directly? Or am i missing something here? Re: Step 4c absenceStefan:
You can write code directly in Groovy, but this won't be reflected back in the visual editor. You can try refreshing your workspace by right clicking on the project in Eclipse and then choosing "Refresh" from the popup menu. Re: Step 4d filling the kind of agent ot watchHello,
I also get the problem of filling the step 4.d on the tutorial example (kind of agent to watch: Infrastructuredemo.GasNode) After intensive exploring of the forum threads, I could not succeed in finding what was the real solution (downgrading from Groovy 1.5 to Groovy 1.1 ?, changing a property ?) I work on Ubuntu 7.1, eclipse 3.2, Java 1.5 (but my windows xp version works almost fine on this part of the tutorial) any help would be appreciated to understand and solve this problem. Jean
