Speech to Text --> Chatbot API --> text to speech>>
No one yet has integrated Speech to Text --> Chatbot API --> text to speech that I know of. Many bots have code for output to speech using different products. Off the top of my head I think there are about 6 different products to choose from that have teck support and many more that are ?home brew?. On the input side Dragon Naturally Speaking (current version) will give you excellent results, though the developer kit is expensive. To run well you will want a main board 2ghz or above with at least 512mb of ram. Window 2000 pro will do better for you than xp or Vista; less overhead. I don?t know if Dragon is available in a Linux version; but most of the text to speech APIs are windows based. Check with Dragon tech (Nuance) for the best sound board to use, it can make a big difference. And of course, do not use a cheap microphone. With good hardware the accuracy of Dragon approaches 99% with training, but training is not now essential as accuracy is still above 85% with no training. << Yes, I would also love to see an example or hear any details from anyone who has done this! Just a quick brainstorm: I would like to see something like a skype to skype voice connection (or any VoIP application). For instance, surf into a webpage hosting a chatbot and simply click to establish a skype voice connection with it. Voice out has been done. (IM has been done.) Now what would be required to connect a skype-in connection with such a desktop speech to text system? (I wouldn't initially expect mission critical accuracy, just a "working" model for proof of concept....) Exactly how would the home hobbyist accomplish this most simply over a common highspeed Internet connection? _______________________________________________ This is the pandorabots-general mailing list To Post, reply to pandorabots-general@... Re: Speech to Text --> Chatbot API --> text tospeechMaybe you missed my last email, I HAVE.
It uses MS Speech software, programD, XML, and LISP. It can operate a robot by voice too. Re: Speech to Text --> Chatbot API --> text to speechI am currently building an Android. A physical Android. I am studying speech to speech recognition, similar to AT&T speech synthesis...operating the robot by voice is exactly what I am thinking about...its just a matter of bouncing that text back to speech and automatically triggering the text.Or is it much more?

Re: Speech to Text --> Chatbot API --> textto speechCheck back the past week of posts, there
are a number of software products, such as Nuance’s Dragon and IBM’s
Viavoice. You want to use hi quality hardware else you could have quality
problems or lag / latency delays. For Speech to text, I do not think
there is any freeware or shareware; or with suitable performance comparable to
the big boys. On the other end, text to speech you have a lot of choices. From:
