	Some Trouble withe lg3d-core.deb from the testing-reposetory. by lg3d :: Rate this Message: Reply to Author \| View Threaded \| Show Only this Message Hi, everybody. dpkg (on Debian testing (Lenny)) throws following message when I´m installing lg3d-core from the testing repo: /usr/share/lg3d/bin/postinstall: line 43: cd: /usr/share/lg3d/bin/../lib/linux-/lg3d-x11/programs/Xserver: File or Directory not found chown: Aacces to 'Xorg' failed: file or directory not found and the same for chgrp and chmod Whrere is the problem and exits a fix for it? I'm guessing you are seeing the same issue that the latest version of Ubuntu have seen (from the output it looks like it) - that more recent versions of Debian no longer have /bin/arch. I've built a newer version that fixes this issue, but I haven't linked it to the binary builds page yet. https://lg3d-core.dev.java.net/files/documents/1834/84267/lg3d-core_1.0.1_dev_i686.deb I know this has some issues with java 1.6.0.0 but I'm guessing testing is running 1.6.0.4 or later so it should be fine. Also, I haven't built a 64 bit version (I don't have a machine to do this), but Amir was looking into it because there are some issues with the Lg3d Xserver and some changes in more recent X11 distributions. There is an apt server? I'm sure the community will continue to provide deb packages - however the automated daily builds are no longer happening as that was done by the guys at Sun, and there hasn't been much code change in the last year to warrant it either (Sun's focus has moved to Project Wonderland - there has been a thread recently about this). However, I'll do a rebuild of the deb package with the fix for java 1.6.0_0 this weekend and update the binary-builds page. I don't have access to javadesktop.org where they are hosted... so they haven't been update there (or on download.java.net). I'll see what I can do, otherwise we might need to look at other hosting options to keep a debian repository up. I'm just uploading the rebuild of the CVS head for i386 at the moment. This is primarily a fix to support Java 1.6.0_0 (which is the jdk installed in Feisty and maybe Etch?). But I also removed the lg3d-backgrounds.jar to take it back to its smaller size of 72Mb. So if you are running on a later JDK don't worry about upgrading. It will be available from the binary-builds page: https://lg3d-core.dev.java.net/binary-builds.html#latestubuntu when it finishes uploading. The package is a quite nice doing, but I have a remarks: I think it should be better to the LG3DX11HOME environmentvariable by a more general one like LG3DHOME or LGHOME and make all paths in the skripts relative to this variable. This is the case - everything is based upon the LGDIR environment variable, and then the paths are worked out relative to this. The scripts are a little confusing because they are made to run on the development setup as well as the release setup... and there are some changes made to the scripts by ant when the packages are built.
