I think some how in the open() method we could use the

nsISocketTransport

with

nsIServerSocketListener
#onSocketAccepted
#onStopListening

To be notified of when the socket is actually established/broken...

But I'm no expert on all these mozilla tools.

Anyone got any ideas?
