Hi all,
My setup : HP Proliant server running ubuntu (8.04) and Iomega 150d NAS with APC Smart UPS.
My apcupsd is working fine with my server (shuts down and restarts on power failure), but because my NAS doesn't allow telnet/ssh connections, I'm unable to shut it down and perhaps what's worse, it has no 'wake on power' capability. So in the event of power failure, I want to have my NAS running as long as possible (since I can't automatically power it when the power returns). My question is this, is it possible to have the shutdown command happen at say 95% battery level but then have the kill power go at say 2% battery level ? Then all the battery is used to keep the NAS alive as long as possible.
I can see that there is a KILLDELAY option in the config file and I guess I could set this to some very high number but is there another/better way of doing this pls?
Tks in advance,
Alex
