Setting the Web Browser in the Mac Version.

I've been using my Mac version 4.4 of Komodo more recently and I've having
problems setting the browser to use.

I have both Firefox and Safari installed and I see that when I go to Web
Browsers in Preferences I have the choice of selecting either
/Applications/Firefox.app or /Applications.Firefox.app but neither works.
When I try to browse further down the chain I can't get further than the
package.

Both of these point to the package containing the browser's components and
executable. For Firefox I've tried changing this to point to either firefox
or firefox-bin in /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS by setting up
aliases for these two applications. However neither of these worked.

What am I doing wrong?
