Sendin scim a signal to switch input method

Hello,

I'm writing an dictionary application in gtk and perl. There the user can enter words or pharses in differnt input forms for each language. In each form scim should handle an appropriate input method for each language.  Since the current language switches very often, the application should send scim an signal making it change the current input method. How can I do that? One possibility would be to emit an key stroke which is a defined hotkey for scim. However I want to implement a more robust method.

By the way, I've modefied the scim VIQR table for vietnamese to Telex and VNI input methods. They are very reliable. I also tried to create two german and esperanto tables. They however have some flaws. Do you want them?

yours,

raneto

Hello Raneto,

I'm looking for the same issue quite some time; the approach with XSendKey don't really work for me ... do you have already a solution and can give a hint ?

Thanks
Christian
