In searching the Internet, I haven't had any luck in finding myself an Andy Pandy outfit.  But I've discovered that there are tons of options for dressing your baby like Andy Pandy!!!

* Find Andy Pandy baby dungarees at this link: http://www.jellybabys.co.uk/childrens-dungarees-p-458.html
(Love that the retailer is called "Jelly Babies!")

* Find Andy Pandy cloth diaper covers (that's "nappy" covers for you non-Americans) at this link: http://www.mumslittleoutlet.com.au/p/146092/bummis-super-whisper-wrap---andy-pandy.html
By the way, I used cloth diapers when my child was a baby, so if you have any questions on how to wash them at home, I'm happy to answer.  It's not as hard as you think, and you save lots of money over buying disposables.

*  No Andy Pandy outfit would be complete without striped socks!  Check out the little beauties at this link: http://www.jellybabys.co.uk/baby-socks-c-103.html.  If you don't want to go for the "odd socks" look, just buy two boxes so that you can have matching pairs of socks.  :)

These items also seem to be widely available on e-Bay, so buyers outside Great Britain (such as myself!) can get their hands on the goodies.  I don't think I'll ever have another baby, but next time I need to buy a baby gift I'll have lots of cute options.

Just curious--are Andy Pandy baby clothes  very popular in Britain?  We  don't have the Andy Pandy show over here, so we don't have the  baby clothes either.  In fact, on the "Hand of Fear" DVD commentary, Elisabeth Sladen says that the most common question she gets from Americans is "Who is Andy Pandy?"  I used to wonder the same thing myself, until last year when my child and I began playing online games at the CBeebies web site.  CBeebies has a nice little summary of _Andy Pandy_, so now I'm in the know...CBeebies also has better Bob the Builder games than the American Bob the Builder site has, in case you're wondering.  :)

These all sound so sweet. I'm afraid I'm quite past having more babies. Well, I could but I'd be silly to do it unless I was a movie star. They all seem to have babies when they are ancient.  The clothes sound lovely.  We do have British stuff for babies here, like Andy Pandy, Paddington Bear, Postman Pat, Bob and Builder etc. Two of my younger firends are having babies next month so I'll have a look out for some stuff like that for them.

Speaking of Sarah Jane though.  YOu know how she's not very good with kids. Always going off at the teens for various things. Well I recently listened to the Pescaton Audio and on that she finds a  baby and she's just as tetchy with that baby as she is with the teens. So it's probably best she had no kids coz I don't think she would have ever been suited to it.  She's a big kid herself I think.....having adventures and being fascinated and excited by strange and fantastic things, but not wanting to put up with kids and their kiddish ways.

Haha, I love that bit! I like the idea that you don't have to love babies to be a 'real' woman (even though I do love babies, lol), but I also like that when she's called upon to be maternal she can step up. I think she's doing quite well in SJA so far!

I agree that SJ is doing well with the maternal thing. I do think that becoming a mother to a teen suits her best though. THere are just some people who don't gel with kids and mother hood or father hood doesn't suit them. Seeing people have kids because it is expected and not doing a good job is really sad. I think SJ was not cut out to be a mother [although if she had married Harry and had kids and a normal family life she would have been a great mum.] "But after being alone for so long I think she is doing well to put up with these pesky teens and I like that she is not that great at dealing with being a mum to Luke. It's normal for a woman to have been alone for so long not to be able to connect with kids that well. I think she's doing fine and the hiccups make it more interesting. Sarah is  a lovely person and that will make her a good mum to Luke but the "out of her depth" situation with it all makes for better story telling. It's true to her , I think. I would like to see more Mother son interaction in the coming season.....normal stuff, getting to know you stuff.....hanging out the washing, doing the dishes type of stuff.....do they still hang out the washing in England? How they get it dry with no sun is beyond me. Sorry....England bashing again. I shouldn't do it because I'm very proud of my english heritage. I really loved the scene in the Lost BOy when Sarah has a go at Luke about the electricity bill when he's sitting there reading while the telly is on and the window is open and the light is on. It's classic.

I have an airer for my clothes, it's just a large rack to hang clothes on.

Anyway, oh yes, I concur, all things considered, I think Sarah is doing at a great job with this motherhood lark. I just can't decide whether she's got it easier because of the way Luke is or harder.

I think she has it harder because of the way Luke is but I think because she is weird  [in her own lovely way] they both suit eachother. Both bumbling along trying to do the right thing. He really does love her as was seen in  The Lost boy. She, on the other hand acted quite oddly after he'd gone. Bounced back into her old ways so I don't think the child situation has really had a chance to gel with her yet.  I know she was putting on a brave face, but she had a previous life, without Luke,to go back to when he left, but poor old Luke only ever had known one life and that's the one with Sarah.

Well poor SJ must have felt really bad after Luke was taken away because she hadn't wanted to endanger anayone and by doing so she isolated herself, and just when she begins to have a proper mother-son relationship,it falls apart. She reacts in the only way she knows- the way she reacted to losing the Doctor - by distancing herself from anyone who may one day (if through no fault of their own) leave her. She is, for all her bravado and shap tounged wit and cool headedness, a very sensetive person, and the Doctor left her very emotionally venerable. She does her best to avoid it happening again, which is why she distances herself from people as told by Kelsy in invasion of the bane. Plus, Luke and Sarah Jane aren't normal people- she knows that she can't give him a normal upbringing even if she tried, so instead she gives him all the tools to thrive in the enviroment she knows is always going to be there - the world of aliens and monsters.

One last thing... in "A girls best friend" SJ says "I'm here to work, not be a surrogate mother, which I find funny"

Sarah: tetchy mom-figure

Yes, that's funny about Sarah being tetchy with the baby in the Pescatons story.  And when I was watching _K-9 and Company_ the other day, I noticed that she was also pretty grumpy with Brendan.  Underneath it all, she does seem to have a genuine affection for Brendan and the teenagers in the SJA.  All things considered, I think I'd like to have her for a mom--she may have a temper, but she really stands up for what she believes in.
