Hi John,
>> But the Piggybank/Solvent/Semantic Bank family are up for adoption, at
>> least of the current codebases :)
>>
> Thank you for being so informative. What do you mean by the word "adopt"? Are you looking for a developer or community of developers to step up to support the code base and drive further development?
Sorry, yes, I meant that open source developers for Piggybank and its
friends would be most welcome, if there's interest in the tool. Because
of the other projects we're supporting, and the fact that we're not
really using Piggybank internally, I won't be putting developer
resources into Piggybank for the foreseeable future.
> I would vote for Piggybank and the Semantic Bank.
OK, we can certainly leave the Semantic Bank alone (it's not broken so
far). And we'll keep Piggybank available, but like I said, no developer
cycles from here for awhile.
> I am not so sure about the future viability of Solvent.
OK
> I will say I learned so much from
> Piggybank/Semantic Bank and Longwell.
So did we! I'm glad you agree. And we're using Longwell for several
things around here now... it comes it very handy.
> I was so happy with the ease of
> the Firefox add-on to show associates a new way to look at the world.
>
Thanks, I think David and the rest of the team did something great
there, and we're happy to see tools like Zotero pick up where we left off.
> SIMILE's last round of funding has just ended so
> I'm afraid Piggybank is
>

Piggy bank is something I intend to return to with my graduate students
as we work on developing a "structured data ecosystem" for the desktop,
but I cannot put a time frame on when we will get to it. Also, although
it is _likely_ that we will start with the current incarnation of piggy
bank, we might decide to start with a clean slate instead.
> I'm trying to customize longwell using fresnel.
>
> The file i modify is fresnel.n3 located in .../longwell-2.5.5/src/
> main/webapp/longwell.
>
> The thing i would like to do is to add an image near the label of a
> particular box (if you can see the attachment).

>
> Is possible to do this thing using frensel or i have to modify the
> template code??
> This doesn't seem immediate (I have been using fresnel for a week)
> and i would like to ask for help in the list.

You can customize the text label using fresnel-core, but you cannot
directly add an image/icon to it. One way to hack around this might be
to declare a CSS hook on the label, and then have a background image
and associated margin/padding instructions in the CSS style sheet.
> Hi Don,
>
> I'm not sure why the dependency has been configured for
> alpha-5,
> because I don't see that as being available, at least
> yet. If you
> edit the pom.xml file and change it to alpha-4, it will

Hi,

I'm trying to integrate longwell with qi4j.
The goal is to feed longwell with openrdf repository that contains indexed
qi4j entities object.

This seems hard to be done unless if:
o All LongwellServlet private fields becomes protected
o LongwellServlet to override init() method instead of init(ServletConfig).
This way, HttpServlet can initialized its #getServletConfig() and
I can override initialization of Longwell initialization cleanly.

On an unrelated note, I notice LongwellServlet at line 652:
        if (path != null || "".equals(path)) {
should probably read:
        if (path != null && !"".equals(path)) {

Regards,
Edward Yakop

I've set up Maven and confirmed that it's installed correctly (by running mvn --version and getting the version, platform info displayed).

When I try to build Longwell, I'm getting this error:

"Unable to download an artifact from any repository"

The artifact is: maven-dependency-plugin, version 2.0-alpha-5-SNAPSHOT

I've read the Longwell faq and re-running this has made no difference.

Can someone tell me what to do at this point?

Thanks,

Crowbar is a headless firefox (version 2.x not 3!). If the page doesn't
work standalone in the browser itself, it won't work in Crowbar either.

I think that page is meant to work inside its original iframe, but
Crowbar doesn't support scraping out of iframes at this moment (and
there is nobody working on that functionality right now).
>
> One question please. Will it be possible to change the width. I do not
> need so many search facets open at one time and with the red cross can
> call one up quickly. So I would like to reduce the amount of space it
> takes up in the Thunderbird window so that I can see other aspects of my
> data.
>
> Regards
>

Doug, you can resize the facets horizontally or remove some, or resize
the whole panel vertically. There is a minimum size limit, though.

On behalf of the SIMILE team, I'm very happy to announce the release of
Citeline, a web-based, WYSIWYG exhibit editor for publications,
bibliographies and other citation collections.

Citeline is a freely available service designed and developed by the
SIMILE Project and run and maintained by the MIT Libraries. It open for
anybody to use, inside and outside the MIT community and it's intended
to provide a path for the publication of citation data on the web in a
structured and re-usable way.

Citeline is found at

http://citeline.mit.edu/

and you can read more about it on this blog post
adds Citeline exporting functionality to Zotero, so that you can drive
Citeline's editor with data coming directly from your own Zotero
collections of citations.

You can find Zots at

Hello,

I've just downloaded and tried Seek for Thunderbird.

I can see it has great possibilities but your description in the
video does not explain how it works in basic form.

I already sort my emails into folders and have set up some message
filters to direct them to these folders.

When I tried to use Seek it asked me to index the folder and then
worked as described.

However if I move to a different folder it has to index that folder
and "forgets" the previous folder's index. Thus I can't create an index
of all my emails in folders and subfolders.

I also presume that it doesn't "store" the index so it will have to
be run each time I start up Thunderbird.

This is not made clear in the video or on the website thus it
doesn't quite do for me what I thought it might. But I can see the
potential.

Initially you could clarify that this tool only works on a single
folder at a time (the inbox is the obvious one).

Will it be able to do subfolders in the future?

Also I got a "fright" when I noticed it hadn't indexed everything
when I first tried it (I was in the inbox folder) so I tried to index
the Account Profile name, thinking it might do all the folders for that
account. At his point I "lost" ALL my emails from the window and only
got them back by restarting Thunderbird.

Regards,

Paul.
