SAMSRemember that 3.2.2 did not exist when I developed my
SAMS systems so I could have not known what pitfalls would arise there. As for the probem of sticking SAMS magnets not being de-activated upon piston release, It simply does not exist in my system. You release the piston, all current is off to all the SAMS rgardless of their state, precisely as it works on most pipe organ systems. This is because there is only one way to activate SAMS current: the pressing of a piston. Although some of my older SAMS have mechanically hung up in the past(they are now in SAM Heaven), the system iteslf never has. It would be interesting to find out how the system that Allen uses deals with this situation. The only real drawback to my system is that you apparently have to use it with a 2.x version of jOrgan, someting I personally do not find to be a disadvantage. If there were questions on how my system was set up, I had prepared very small sample dispositions so that that its workings could be more easily demonstrated, and, like Ken Allman's sample dispositions, expanded to the user's needs. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges. Re: SAMSLes
Would you make available any of your disposition so that I can learn from you? I also use the 2.x jOrgan version. WjBurd@hotmail.com Thank you Bill |

Re: SAMSHi Les
As you know I have had a bit of success in getting SAMs working with version 3.2. However, there is the very problem you have mentioned that the releasing of the piston does not have the expected effect of removing the driving current. I have spent a little time looking at the description of your method which you kindly provided previously. It would help my understanding to look at a sample disposition for 2.4. If possible, could I have a copy. Eion.
