Routelines with .csv to gpx conversion

I am a complete beginner at this,  I use an application that uses UK OS maps
and is great for what I use it for, unfortunately the native format is closed
but it does allow .csv export.  I converted a  .gpx file to .csv to see the
file  structure and after some attempts with the various data  options
finally used  lat and long in degrees (real) and code (waypoint name)  I can
now export in .csv and convert with gpsbabel to gpx. but  viewing the file in
Viking the waypoints are all there but they are not connected.

I assume I am missing  some other data or just doing something wrong.

Thanks

Ian

Waypoints wouldn't be connected.   Routepoints and trackpoints would be connected.

It's not clear what format you're using, whether you built a custom one from the
style mechanism, or what options are in play, so I'll just spray some answers out.

http://www.gpsbabel.org/htmldoc-1.3.5/filter_transform.html    - to convert from wpts to trks.
http://www.gpsbabel.org/htmldoc-1.3.5/style_global.html - to make your custom xsv format a track format by default
http://www.gpsbabel.org/htmldoc-1.3.5/Route_And_Track_Modes.html - to force some modules into track mode.

Many thanks for the detailed reply, the waypoints, routepoint, trackpoint
descriptions seem quite ambiguous to me, I think I know what they mean. The
programme I use plots a route on OS maps and calls these points waypoints and
joins them up, does that make them routepoints ? anyway I found I needed to
use  transform wpt=trk and it did what I wanted.

Thanks

Ian
