Rosegarden, Jack, opensuse 10.3Hello,
When I start Rosegarden 1.6.1 in Opensuse 10.3 and start jack with the command jackd -R -d alsa -d hw:0 -r 44100 -p 1024 -n3 -i2 -o2 I got the following output: jackd 0.109.2 Copyright 2001-2005 Paul Davis and others. jackd comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY This is free software, and you are welcome to redistribute it under certain conditions; see the file COPYING for details JACK compiled with System V SHM support. cannot use real-time scheduling (FIFO at priority 10) [for thread -1210542400, from thread -1210542400] (1: Operation not permitted) cannot create engine Istart it with real-time kernel. Please advise. I don't know anything about SuSE (Open or otherwise) but this looks like a classic example of a broken realtime setup. I don't know how to fix it. I haven't dealt with these issues in a long time, and I know everything has changed since the last time I had any knowledge of these matters. Talking about what I understand to be wrong in terms of the way things used to be would only add confusion. Hopefully someone else can help you sort this out. -- D. Re: Rosegarden, Jack, opensuse 10.3Hello,
I use OPenSuse 10.3. I removed -R option and everything works well. It is interesting that with -R option synth plugins were not visible in Rosegarden. When I removed -R option Qsynth dssi plugin was visible in Rosegarden. I will experiment more and keep you posted on any new developments. Best wishes, vedran On Wed, Jul 23, 2008 at 8:02 PM, D.
