Whoa!!!!!!!!!!!!
HMR, that is so totally awesome that I am speechless!
It's incredible!

And the modifications that you did to your Bullet, to make it like a
dirt/adventure bike are the most advanced of that type that I've ever
seen!
You are to be congratulated sir!

Thanks so very much for posting those pics!

Ace

Thanks Ace

The suspension bits and bobs are from a 1990 Honda XR250, CR125... 18-litre tank.
Fabricated a 45-T rear sprocket at a friendly CNC shop, EN8 steel on machinists advice

Ride height is a bit too tall, need to take the seat down as much as I can as it is a handful
in water crossings! Hence left the e-start on despite the weight penalty

Totally rejetted 34mm Mikuni carb, only swapped the main jet as I gained altitude and it
ran very well

Have to fabricate a stronger side stand as te bike was listing over quite dramatically by the
end of the trip! Better chain guides and rollers to stop the chain slack from whipping the
swing arm -- a nice winter project!

OK, it beats Burke's Garden! Good show, Harsh. I considered putting long
travel suspension on my bike but in line with my "good enough" (some
might say cheapskate) philosophy, decided to just ride slower ;-)

Love to see more pictures and posts from you, they are always
interesting and enlightening.

Cheers

Reminds me of AVL500 built by Prashy & Sachin while at the Raid-De-
Himalaya. Nice

Hey Rick, is it possible to go slow on your DBD34 ;-)

I actually wanted to build a retro twin shock scrambler, a la No. 266, but instead got
heavily involved with a friend's Bullet build for a rally and ended up owning the bike after
the event. Worked out cheaper too as the suspension parts were available locally from
Hondas, provenance early '90s.

Another trip coming up soon, perhaps on a UCE, and should be interesting to compare the
two. Will post pics and report if it happens

Right, I have a Bultaco Alpina front end - if I get some other projects
finished I could be tempted to put that on a Bullet along with some
longer shocks. It wouldn't give me a ride like yours, but might be a
acceptable compromise between height and travel. I don't want to change
my present Bullet, coz I enjoy plonking about on it too much.

To your question, the Goldie doesn't like to go slow but occasionally
the pilot does - that's why I have the Bullet! I don't want to go fast
on the loose stuff coz I know I'm gonna fall, and it hurts less if I'm
going slower when I do!

More please from the Himalayas, and I look forward to your impressions
of the UCE.
