Requesting feedback for wikipage 'meaningful filenames'

Hi there,

I've started a page looking at hwo to structure meaningful file names
on the wiki.

It's a bit of a tricky subject, but maybe if some others have a look
we can get something useful together.

I've done a whole lot of revision and fine tuning of my preferred
naming schema. Any feedback?

I reckon I should be able to do this ... alas I don't know how

I would like to extract a list (and, whether directly or by copying and
pasting, put it into an OO or txt file) of the various place names in my
GRAMPS database.

I would also like to extract the names and, when they exist, dates of
birth, marriage and death of folks with a specified surname. And also
put that into an OO or txt file.

Can anyone tell me how?

Appreciate any help.

Allan

You could do it in OO's spreadsheet after a CSV export. That's powerful, but not entirely user-friendly.  There are numerous special reports one could think of.  A particular one that I'd like, is a list of individuals who are associated with a particular place.

Oh I think I could handle the "user-unfriendliness" of a CSV export.

So one gets such an export how exactly?

Family Trees --> Export  to get the "wizard".  Select CSV when you have the chance!

(That's for v 3.0.1, which is all I have to talk about.)
