Report not-Spam Address usage question
Hello all,
I have ran ASSP for two months on testmode before unchecking all testmode settings including message scoring. I now have it running with prepend subject enable as [SPAM]. I have also enabled in cron to run the following commands every midnight: cd /usr/share/assp;perl /usr/share/assp/rebuildspamdb.pl; cd /usr/share/assp;perl /usr/share/assp/move2num.pl -r; Both above commands have already been ran by cron and at the shell prompt to make sure ASSP processes changes in the spam database. My question is, how come e-mail that I like to receive still gets tagged in the subject line as [SPAM] even though I have already forwarded this to ASSP notspam@..., is it because I changed it from the default setting of asspnotspam@... Or do I also need to forward the e-mail to asspwhite@... Thank you! - Joe

Re: Report not-Spam Address usage questionHi Joe.
Why are U running move2num.pl every night?? If you uncheck Collecting ->Use Subject as Maillog Names, files in spam, notspam, xxxx folder will be saved as number names (1.eml ... MaxFiles.eml) and never will be there more than collecting->Max Files take a look at wiki: http://www.asspsmtp.org/wiki/Other_Tools or in assp options description: Collecting -> Use Subject as Maillog Names: You can turn this on to help you manually identify mail in your spam and non-spam collections. This will prevent ASSP from controlling the number of files in your collections(->MAXFILES). If your collections grow over 1000 items run move2num.pl and turn this off collecting->Max Files: If you're not using subjects as file names, this is the maximum number of files to keep in each collection (spam & nonspam) It's actually less than this -- files get a random number between 1 and $MaxFiles. check Collecting->Max Bytes too. rgds, Pere ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check out the new SourceForge.net Marketplace.
