Repetitive ticking noise with mid/high register sounds...

I am running jack as part of the Planet CCRMA package on top of Fedora 8.

AMD Athlon 64x2
MSI k9vgmv motherboard w/ onboard video
Maudio 1010lt sound card

OK, you know the little 'RT' that blinks in the display on the front panel of Qjackctl when it is running?
Well, say I have a softsynth open, running through jack, and am holding down a note in the upper register...
Everytime the 'RT' blinks, I hear a little noise (which seems to be mostly in the left earphone).
The noise isn't audible when I hold down keys at lower registers.

I've tried various settings, realtime and nonrealtime, and am aware that sound cards need to be set to their favorite sample rate for optimal performance, but nothing seems to get rid of this 'ticking'.

Like I said, the ticking seems to be in sync with the 'RT' (or '--' in non-realtime mode) indicator that blinks on the front panel of Qjackctl.

Anybody have any ideas before my eye starts ticking along with it too?

As Delta 1010LT has on-board converters, so my guess is dirty power,
(possibly on high frequency carrier), coming from the onboard video.
These are typical symptoms especially for integrated audio solutions
(quite audible for example on MacBook Pro).

Things you can try; move the soundcard to the lowest (furthest)
PCI-slot, you can also try enabling "Spread spectrum" setting in BIOS if
available.
