Reference materialHey,
I am a new SuperCollider user and I feel like I have exhausted my resources for learning the language. I have been using Google to search for new material but I find it hard to find anything good. I was wondering if anyone could suggest books or sites that they found useful. Or even, could anyone suggest good methods to learn more (I find that my imagination is too large, and I tried to do things that are perhaps a bit too complex for the moment). I have a pretty good understanding of SynthDefs and patterns, but I am finding myself a little frustrated when I try and move forward on my own. thanks, Jason _______________________________________________ sc-users mailing list sc-users@... http://lists.create.ucsb.edu/mailman/listinfo/sc-users |

Re: Reference materialHave you read David Cottle's paper on supercollider 3? I've just got hold of a copy and I'm looking forward to reading it.

Re: Reference materialYeah, that's an EXCELLENT text. It was my intro to SC and made some
things very clear that would have confused me much longer without it. Also look for a SuperCollider book to be published by MIT Press within the next year, I expect. hjh On Thu, May 15, 2008 at 11:53 AM, Paul Caudell <Paul@...> wrote: > Have you read David Cottle's paper on supercollider 3? Re: Reference materialThere are a few tutorials available from the main help as well, this list its archives are a HUGE resource, and the 'SuperCollider Book' is currently in process. There are also a few online forums, specifically:
Don't be a stranger. Search sc-users, and post to the list and forum. Best, Josh On May 15, 2008, at 8:53 AM, Paul Caudell wrote: Have you read David Cottle's paper on supercollider 3? Re: Reference materialno I haven't been able to find a copy. I see on one tutorial site, that
you need to contact him personally for a copy, but when I click the link to contact him, it is broken. How did you get a copy? Could you help me out? thanks Jason Paul Caudell wrote: > Have you read David Cottle's paper on supercollider 3? Re: Reference materialI learned most of my SC3 knowledge from searching and browsing the
mailing list archives. Its a great resource. The CREATE archives are a little buggy but www.nabble.com provides a nice interface. I also found looking at the source code of classes and quarks to be really helpful - looking at other people's code gives you a good sense of how to break down complex ideas into smaller tasks. The wiki has a lot of interesting code snippets: http://swiki.hfbk-hamburg.de:8888/MusicTechnology/6 And if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask here! ~luke _______________________________________________ sc-users mailing list sc-users@... http://lists.create.ucsb.edu/mailman/listinfo/sc-users |
