todays announcement of the flash player 10 beta may speed the whole thing up as
they've finally added 'low level' access to the sound buffer.(the downside is
that its currently 200ms minimum latency, but its a real step in the right
direction.)
i think that combined with the new capability of loading and saving files
without requiring a server is really going to make things interesting.
