Hi,

This is what I am looking for!

The normal XCSoar did not run on my HP IPAQ 314.

Finaly I got it a little bit working with the Altair version, but I had to use the software keyboard F1 - F4 to start the 4 menu buttons on the left. Then it was no problem to communicate with the internal GPS on COM7. But I had still problems with the data files. I was thinking of giving it up when I tried the compiled version of dave and this worked at once!

The HP IPAQ is also a personal navigator. It has 480 x 800 display, very good internal GPS, bluetooth and cost only 179 euros. First it run from the SD card but now I have it also working installed in the internal ResidentFlash directory. I have only some small problems that sometimes the fonts are too big.

Is it possible that the standard version of XCSoar support these devices?

Hi,

Ive had a couple of emails asking for some more details on what I did, so
thought I would post here too in case anyone else finds it useful.

The device I used is a binatone carrera x350. The files I used are at
http://users.on.net/~dsg/HG/xcsoar.zip<http://users.on.net/%7Edsg/HG/xcsoar.zip>(xcsoar.exe
renamed MobileNavigator.exe to make it work) If you are using
the same device just unzip onto an sd card (two directories). You will need
to put your own xcsoar data in XCSoarData, it contains data for South
Australia. Set com port to 7 and it should work on the binatone. The only
change I made to the source code was to remove the reference to imgdecmp.lib
from the linker then fix the resulting error (removed VOIIMAGE.cpp from the
project and commented out lines for jpgimage1 and jpgimage2 in
DlgWayPointDetails.cpp), based on PPC2003 build.

To use tur device off (switch in back) put card in and switch back on.
Select navigate, it should start xcsoar.

No I have only some small problems that sometimes the fonts are too big and not all the data is working.

Is it possible that the standard version of XCSoar support these devices?
