O.K., maybe I'm a bit slow, or just not getting any messages, since I
don't think any narrow-wasit-wg@... messages were delivered to me.

Is there anything deep behind the name change?

The GENI narrow-waist mailing list has been renamed the control-wg

mailing list, to match the working group's name change.  Membership

options and archives will remain the same, but your password will

change.  Mail sent to the old narrow-waist-wg@... address will be

forwarded to control-wg@....  Please contact geni-ops@... to

report any mailing list problems.

Hi Steve-

This change is made mostly because the name 'Narrow Waist' was a
little confusing.  The scope of the working group has been expanded as
well (this will appear on geni.net soon):

Scope:  What is universal across GENI components? How will evolution
be accommodated with or without a full transition of all GENI nodes at
once?  Topics in scope include:
- component control (obtaining and managing resources)
- slice control (interfaces and mechanisms for establishing and
controlling slices)
- access control within GENI (usage policy representation and
administration mechanisms)
- interactions external to GENI (facility federation)
- key enablers (identity, authentication)

So, I wouldn't call this a particularly 'deep' change but more a
clarification.  I expect other groups to clarify their charters as the
nature of the work becomes more clear.

Thanks for the explanation.

The only interpretation for the name that I could think of was the
Alexander Haig one.
