I forgot to say about my Miktex version.  I found a folder
C:\Downloads\MiKTeX-2.2.  Under MikTeX-2.2 folder, there is miktex folder
and several files with "cab" extension. Under miktex folder, there is
config/mpm.ini file.  I am not even sure whether I uninstalled miktex or
not. But there is no MikTex in Add/remove programs.

 regards,
yuki

That's very old. And your tetex isn't new too.

If that are the only folder with miktex relatex things than I doubt
that it is installed. In any case you log file doesn't show anything
miktex related. You should try to get some help from a group that
knows something about tetex/cygwin. (Just in case you don't know:
tetex is no longer supported. On unix systems you should use now
texlive (where the 2008 version is coming soon).)

If you decide to reinstall everything: I don't know if ptex is
supported in modern systems. I think you will have to compile it
yourself if you really need it.

Also miktex 2.7. doesn't support win98 or ME.

Hi,

At last, I had to manually uninstall both miktex and ptex, and had to
delete some entries in registry.

Now everything is OK and I cam compile my tex file. Thank you so much.
:)

regards,
yuki
