Hi.
Not sure what happened with your installer. Try to execute netbeans
from commandline with --userdir <path_to_new_userdir> switch (to read
more about userdir, follow
http://wiki.netbeans.org/FaqWhatIsUserdir).
If it helps, you can put that switch directly into
/netbeans/etc/netbeans.conf. If it won't work I would suggest you not to
use installer, but download zip instead. There's a link on the download
page. Just unzip it and run your netbeans. I personally use installer
only when I need to install additional runtime...
