Yeah, I've used both Intellij and Eclipse plugin.....neither of them are very good compared to netbeans and ruby. And Intellij is NOT worth a $500 license fee.
The support for Groovy and Grails in Intellij Idea should at least equally blow your mind. My personal opinion is that it's the best IDE for a Dynamic language ever created and just getting better. Also, it makes it almost completely seamless working with a mixed Java/Groovy project. In addition, the Netbeans people have been putting resources into building a plugin although I didn't find it to be anywhere near the capabilities of intellij yet. Eclipse has a plugin with some decent capabilities but it's a bit buggy. But if you really want a good IDE there is no beating Intellij.

So is anyone working on better IDE support for grails? I just took a look at ruby on rails through netbeans and was quite blown away at how nice it was to do development with juby.
Would love to see something similar for grails...and would love to help development if someone is already working on it.
