yes, It just means that the app cant find any midi port to connect to.
You need to activate the IAC Driver (the inter-appliation MIDI bus) on
your mac so you can route MIDI to software synths like SimpleSynth to
make sound.
start "Audio MIDI Setup"
select the MIDI DEvices tab
double-click on IAC Driver icon
click the Device is Online checkbox
quit the app
