I use Greycstoration (.com) which is an excellent de-noise program and
can be used as plugin to gimp. Download the gimp version, and copy
the executable and paste it into the plugin directory of gimp. To use
it, under filter, enhance, you will find grecstoration. It comes with
default settings. I use the default most of the time.
