I just read through all 49 (at the time I wrote this) pages on what
seems to be the main discussion thread over in the ExtJS forums and I
have to say, it's not even clear to me that you could do *that* with
this license change, unless you were OK with GPL'ing such a side project.

Quite the contrary... you did the only reasonable and responsible thing
you could for DWR and it's community. In fact, had you *not* made this
decision, I very likely would have not been able to use DWR at work any
longer, at least no version that contained ExtJS-related code, because
our counsel has already said no to anything GPL'd, or remotely related
to anything GPL'd. You saved me from a potentially ugly situation :)
