Just an update for anyone who might be following...

I've managed to burn 4 .avi files compiled for Video DVD using DeVeDe (nice tool, works perfectly and suits the need for me) onto a 4.7Gb DVD+R.  All is well, titles function, it plays clean all the way through...
So I tried again to put 8 of them onto an 8Gb DVD+R DL (dual layer media), it fails.  This is the goal b/c these are video files, and there are 8 in a season.  Therefore a whole season will fit nicely on an 8Gb DL disc.

System cannot read the disc.  In a standalone DVD player, the same.  Player will sense the disc, spin it up, and tries to mount it, then fails with the error ...No Disc...

So while the hardware and software SEEM functional in terms of the 4.7Gb discs, I'm having no luck at all with the 8Gb discs and troubleshooting this is burning more coasters than I care to at $2 a disc...

Sure would like to find an answer to this one.
Thanks!
