Thanks for your answer.
I am not sure I unsterstand right : I have tried
b.backcolor=my_color
It works fine as well.
But
b.forecolor=my_color
again turns text color to black, whatever my_color...
Same thing with
b.forecolor=color.Red.
(it works fine with color.Black instead... ;-) )
I'm not surprised : I remember reading in gambas documentation
that "forecolor" is a synonymous for "foreground".
