4D v11 SQL is the next version of the 4D product line.  It is not a
"parallel" product.

In general, yes.  More specifically, you should read the conversion
guide, which you can download here:

http://www.4d.com/support/documentation.html

4D v11 SQL is quite a leap forward from previous versions of 4D so it's
important to understand the differences.
