If the bike cranks over and over then quickly slows and just "clicks" then the starter is not getting sufficient power. Either due to a bad connection, or the battery is not holding a charge.

If you have been cranking and cranking then the eventually battery dies, then the bike is not firing up. Either due to no fuel or no spark.
