Yes, you can get this through the free plugin "API Pack"
http://pluggers.nl/api_pack.htmlAPI Pack exposes a lot of the 4D's internal interfaces that
are not implemented in the 4D language. I havent used this
part, but I expect this should do what you need.

Even though it's free, I'd recommend making a small token
payment, as the plugin and the sample code are invaluable.
