Rdesktop 1.6 ?
Hello list

I saw some earlier posts about rdesktop 1.6 having some bugs.
Is there any news about this ? Doing an upgrade to TS 2.1.1 soon, and was hoping on including rdesktop 1.6

There was a bug in the LiveCD implementation, which has been fixed.
Otherwise I'm not aware on any TS related issues.

Oh, TS 2.1.1 doesn't include rdesktop 1.6. You have to replace it manually:

http://thinstation.org/download/2.2/rdesktop-1.6.0_TS-2.2.tar.gz

Hello

We made our own rdesktop 1.6 package, but then I noticed someone having
crash issues on rdesktop 1.6

So this was only on the LiveCD implementation ?

On the verge of pushing out a new image to 3000 clients....wanna get it
right the first time ;)

No, this is an entirely different problem. The LiveCD problem only
existed for less than a week and was completely non-functional.

No, nothing to do with it. Kevin Beaumont had a repeatable issue with
editing of footers on Word (a few weeks ago now) and decided he needed
to roll back.

It appears to be an rdesktop 1.6 issue.

The LiveCD issue, was me forgetting to put the whole package in...

THinstation 2.3

by Graeme.Lockett :: Rate this Message:

Hi,

I have been tinkering again with Thinstation 2.3. The Thinstation PXE
image I have created works just fine but I am having trouble with the
desktop wallpaper in ICEWM. It doesn't seem to matter what image I use
it doesn't work, the default Thinstation background works just fine.

I have compared my image and the default image using GIMP and they
appear to be the same  in every way I can see. I have also tried the
advice in FAQ regarding the boot splash screens but this doesn't work
either. Normally I would search the mailing list for this sort of thing
but at present it doesn't seem to be returning anything for any of my
searches.

Has anybody got a quick reply on the image property requirements?

Regards

Graeme Lockett

Hello again :)

So there is a bug in rdesktop 1.6 then ?

Or was this something that only Kevin struggled with ?

www package

I tried searching the mailing list archives and anywhere else I could think of, but haven't been able to find an answer.
I think the search function of the archives at http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum_name=thinstation-general does not work.

Anyway, I added the www package to my config. The docs say the admin site is on port 6800. The normal port 80 works fine but I have nothing on port 6800.  A port scan of the IP showed nothing more than port 80 & one other port, 110 I think, open.  Am I missing thing here?

Thanks

Have you set NET_REMOTE_ACCESS_FROM properly? And do have included the
xorg vnc package?
