I just completed the first annual Father's Day Vuelta De Carbon, a 66 mile solo effort from Abilene to Carbon, TX to meet my in-laws for lunch. Crosswind, headwind, hills and heat! Oh yeah, 2 snakes, a turtle, fox, 2 dogs that wanted some sweaty shaved legs, and a deer that jumped "completely" over a 2 lane road... she did not even touch the pavement as she crossed about 20 feet in front of me. Thankfully there were not followers that could have easily T-boned me. Great ride, great food, and a great nap... just add a tagline from your favorite NASCAR beer ad!
