RFS: wallpaper-tray (updated package)Dear mentors,
I am looking for a sponsor for the new version 0.5.5-1 of my package "wallpaper-tray". It builds these binary packages: wallpaper-tray - wallpaper changing utility for GNOME The package appears to be lintian clean. The upload would fix these bugs: 488396 The package can be found on mentors.debian.net: - URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/w/wallpaper-tray - Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable main contrib non-free - dget http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/w/wallpaper-tray/wallpaper-tray_0.5.5-1.dsc I would be glad if someone uploaded this package for me. However, the patch is unreadable. I suppose that you needed to rerun autoconf stuff. In this case, just patch Makefile.am or configure.ac and depends on autotools to generate all this stuff. This way, you keep the patch to the minimal size. You should look at the list of the opened bugs for this package. Maybe this new upstream package fixes some of them. You should also close #326671. AUTHORS and MAINTAINERS do not contain any new information with respect to debian/copyright. I think that you can safely not ship them. You depend on debhelper 7 but do not use any feature of it. Stick to debhelper 5, this will ease the work of backporters. I am not sure, but since you ship a gconf schema, you need to register it. I think dh_gconf can do it. -- BOFH excuse #300: Digital Manipulator exceeding velocity parameters |

Re: RFS: wallpaper-tray (updated package)Hey Vincent,
Thanks for all the advice. I'm a little busy this week, I will try to look at it in the weekend. Regards, Guido 2008/9/12 Vincent Bernat <bernat@...> OoO En cette nuit nuageuse du jeudi 21 août 2008, vers 01:10, Guido |

Re: RFS: wallpaper-tray (updated package)Hey Vincent,
I just uploaded a new version of the package. Although I didn't change the version number from the previous version because I figured it wouldn't really matter since the previous package never went into the repository. See below for more details. I got rid of MAINTAINERS but I kept AUTHORS because automake sees it as a required file. > > You depend on debhelper 7 but do not use any feature of it. You were right, fixed it now. Thanks for all the help! Kind regards, Guido Loupias -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-mentors-REQUEST@... with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? See below for more details. It's good practice to increment your versions for each mentors upload too, so that mentors can easily tell the new version of your package even if it didn't go into the main repository. - -- Jonathan Wiltshire -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (GNU/Linux) iEYEARECAAYFAkjevWIACgkQymvqPtuAC1IhMACfUjGfBYExjX1QXWDhdD1d62FJ lxwAnAyoPJ1rSXecCZeTSfOdZXy22+JB =YnWf -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-mentors-REQUEST@... with a subject of "unsubscribe". It's still helpful to increase the release number for each upload, since it means anyone who has downloaded your previous package from 'mentors.debian.net' can easily know which version they're looking at. It also allows easy use of 'debdiff' to compare different versions. Unless you're saying that your package never even made it out of your build machine? -- \ “There are always those who think they know what is your | `\ responsibility better than you do.” —Ralph Waldo Emerson | _o__) | Ben Finney -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-mentors-REQUEST@... with a subject of "unsubscribe".
