Query By Example Question...

It seems that you cannot tab to anything but fields....  buttons and  
variables are not tabable?

Correct.  Buttons and variables are not tabable, button vars do not
initialize, scripts do not execute, and the form method does not execute.

And for these reasons, I would not use a data entry form when using Query By
Example...

IF you have a custom query where Query By Example might make sense, then
build a unique form for that purpose.

As always, in my opinion.
