Problem upgrading 5501 firmware

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone experiences the same issue.

I have a 5501 board with 1.32i on it.

I cannot upgrade it to 1.33, when I issue “download” in monitor, CCCCC
letters start showing in the monitor (as they should), but when I try to
upload the 1.33 image, the process is immediately stopped.

I’ve tried to upgrade, since I have some issue with the box – after
bootup, very often the box does not boot, but end up in monitor.

Are you using minicom ? If yes edit your xmodem options to remove the 1k
block options.

I had this exact problem, tried two different terminal emulators, no luck.

What worked for me was to put <space><hyphen> after the command, as
documented in the changelog -- you type 'download -' instead of just
'download', this switches behavior back to the old checksum routine.

Hey,

I'm using Windows vista and Hyper terminal Private edition 6.3 to perform
the upgrade.

I've used this same terminal emulator and OS to upgrade BIOS on soekris
boards in past woithout any issues.
