Problem running care2x2.5rc2

I have sucessfuly installed care2x ver 2.5 on windows xp sp2 running apache 2.2x,php4x and mysql4x. The only problem is that, when I type http://localhost/care2x, it returns "Page can not be displayed".

What could be wrong pls?

I had that problem also, download xampp and install firefox do not use the internet explorer browser but firefox it should fix the problem. After tell me if you see all the forms to enter and retrieve patients data

Try xampp with firefox, I bypass this problem but I couldn,t see the modules I do not think that's a bug. I am trying to find out the best way to get the program work I will inform you. If you get your way out please inform me

Here is how i got care2x2.2 installed and running.

Am assuming you have downloaded and unzipped care2x2.2 to your web root directory. Now to the actual install!

I ran this against php 4.3.9, apache 2.0.59 and mysql 4.1.22 using wamp under windows xp pro with sp2.



1. I browsed to http://localhost/mycare2xfolder

2. Some error about smarty not having write access to /tmp folder came up. To solve this problem, I had to edit the the config.php file in the installer directory. I replaced

  $writable_dir = '/tmp';
if (!file_exists($writable_dir)) {
        $writable_dir = realpath(dirname(__FILE__).'/tmp');
}

with $writable_dir = realpath(dirname(_FILE_).'/tmp');

Once this was done, the installer started. Fill in the required fields and go on clicking.


3. Once installed, I browsed to care2x from Firefox and after supplying my login name and password, nothing happens. So I tried it in IE and everything seems to work. I was confused! How can it work in IE and not Firefox? I   felt something was wrong. So, I went into the options menu under Tools menu, clicked on content from the displayed tab and voila, javascript wasn't enabled! Once I enabled javascript, it worked flawlessly.

Thank you so much, I got it work since yesterday by creating the "tmp" folder into the installer directory that's all with easywamp.

I am going to see if I can install the 3 generation and let you know. Hawodi can I ask you where are you from?

  I solved ther are tow problems one is TMP folder and it's clear , but the other is about the preoaded data which is not found and you have to get from previuos versions .

I successfuly installed the version 2.2.2 and it seems to be okay. Am quite busy right now.I will give u a detailed procedure of how I got it to work.
