Can I prevent Picard from doing album lookups when I add files/folders?

Picard only does this if the files have MusicBrainz tags already in
them, if I remember rightly. If you remove MusicBrainz specific tags
(maybe with MP3Tag or something) then it shouldn't do this.

Right, I knew that.  My question was about how to prevent this from
happening.  Unless you're suggesting there's a way to add my directory
of music that excludes files with MB tags?

As soon as you drag it in, can't you just select everything and drag it back to the left pane?

That's what I do... (e.g. if I want to re-scan to submit PUIDs or something)

No, you can't.  Dragging albums from right to left doesn't seem to do
anything.  Only dragging tracks works, but that means I would need to
expand each of the albums on the right.

Now that you mention it, I am also interested in re-scanning, but only
because the auto Lookup gets things wrong.

Dunno what you're talking about, I do this all the time; and just did it right now - it works fine. The release stays on the right hand side; but the files themselves go back to the left and the matches are removed from the right hand release.
