PowerShot A40 - Speed questions.

Hey there,

So I picked up an old Powershot A40 (mainly because it was listed as
fully compatible) and it indeed works great. However, I have one
concern.. speed. It would be nice if after every picture the camera
didn't retract the lens. Doing so adds at least 10 seconds to the
interval time (since it then has to extend again for the next
picture). It would also seem this would be a battery killer when not
on AC. This question may be a bit specific to a model, but I'm just
wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to speed this up. Or if
anybody can recommend a camera model that they know to be
significantly faster (or at least not retract each time).

Thanks!
Forrest

It is possible to keep it open.

In PTP mode, with capturetarget=ram currently.

Ciao, Marcus
