PowerLinc USB repeatedly disconnects

I recently bought a PowerLinc USB adapter and changed over to using
x10 dev from heyu (was using a CM11A).

Everything installed and works fine, but I"m seeing the PowerLinc
device disconnect every  so often.  This causes the plusbd to die :(
The device shows back up, but the plusbd doesn't seem to be able to
handle it.

Jan  8 11:17:09 [kernel] usb 1-1: USB disconnect, address 21
Jan  8 11:17:09 [plusbd] Error reading USB device - Input/output error_
Jan  8 11:17:09 [plusbd] ERROR:  read error (Input/output error)_
Jan  8 11:17:10 [kernel] usb 1-1: new low speed USB device using
uhci_hcd and address 22
Jan  8 11:17:11 [kernel] hiddev96: USB HID v1.00 Device [SmartHome
SmartHome PowerLinc Controller] on usb-0000:00:04.2-1

Is this an issue with my USB hardware?  Does the Powerlinc like to do
this?   Perhaps even the kernel I'm running (2.6.14 with gentoo
patches)?

I can provide any other info that might be useful, just let me know.

Thanks in advance!
mike

I have never see this behavior with a PowerLinc USB.  It sounds like you
either have a bad USB device or a bad cable causing it to break its
connection. I currently do not have any way to cause the driver to deal with
the connect/disconnect.
