Poor 3D support after kernel upgrade on FireGL

I've been using the method Phil recommended here in May
to provide 3D support for my T60p running Hardy.

    http://www.phoronix.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9951

I'm using the "ati" driver and using

    Option          "AccelMethod"   "EXA"

in my xorg.xonf file.

During the time it was working I had one kernel update, and all that
was needed was to recompile the DRM module.

After my last update, though, video became very slow -- I could hardly
drag an xterm and that action would cause xorg to consume all CPU.

I did indeed recompile the DRM module and even repeated all step in
the forum article above.

I commented out the AccelMethod and the slowness went away, but my
glxgears is about 1400fps.  Previously it was about 2500fps or more
with AccelMethod enabled above.  (With the fglrx driver I was getting
over 4000fps.)

Anyone else notice this change?  Any idea why the AccelMethod EXA no
longer works?

EXA works fine here.  You may want to make sure you're using the
latest drm bits from git.

The script to build the DRM module (./easy-drm-modules-installer)
does fetch the latest from git.  So, pretty sure it's the latest.

http://hank.org/Xorg.0.log has my latest log (with EXA enabled) --

(II) Module ati: vendor="X.Org Foundation"
        compiled for 1.4.0.90, module version = 6.8.191
        Module class: X.Org Video Driver
ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 2.0

Does your log show the same?

(WW) RADEON(0): [drm] failed to enable new memory map

looks like something is wrong with your drm.
